According to local authorities, the incident took place at around 8:00 PM on January 27th. The car, a red sedan, careened off the road and into the front porch of a residential home. The impact of the crash caused significant damage to the house and the vehicle. "yes luckily it was late at night but there’s always kids walking around the neighborhood being kids and riding their bikes 🤦🏻♀️ just so crazy" the victims neighbor Kamila Dye said.
The occupants of the house, a family of four, were inside at the time of the crash but thankfully sustained no injuries.
The driver of the car, however, fled the scene on foot and has not yet been located by authorities. Police are currently searching for the individual and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, but it is believed that the driver may have been under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the incident. Gladstone Resident Michael Greer had this to say "I don't think its rash to come up with this type of opinion based on the particular circumstances surrounding the event. Considering whats going on around Gladstone lately. More than likely higher than kite or drunk . Their just lucky they didn't stop and steal the lawn furniture to pay for the damage to the stolen car."
This is a developing story and more information will be released as it becomes available.
