In a move that has foodies across Kansas City clucking with excitement, cult favorite restaurant Go Chicken Go has announced that it will be opening a new 6th location in the Northland, next to the new Whataburger off Barry Rd and I-169 with a tentative opening planned for in January 2024. There are also plans for a location at Vivion Rd and North Oak Trafficway.
This latest addition to the Go Chicken Go family is sure to be a hit with locals and visitors alike, given the restaurant's sterling reputation for serving up some of the best chicken in the city. Indeed, the Kansas City Star named Go Chicken Go as the city's top chicken purveyor in 2018, a distinction that has helped to cement its place as a beloved local institution.
The business is owned and operated by two brothers, Bill and Mike Hendrix, along with Mike's daughter Andrea Lowe, and has been a fixture in the community for over forty years. In addition to the new location, the Hendrix family also runs two other restaurants in Kansas City, KS and on Troost in South KC.
For those unfamiliar with the Go Chicken Go experience, the restaurant is known for its crispy, golden-brown fried chicken, which is made using a secret family recipe that has been passed down through the generations. Other popular menu items include chicken gizzards, livers, and wings, as well as a range of classic sides like mashed potatoes and gravy, coleslaw, and green beans.
With its new location set to open its doors in just a few short months, fans of Go Chicken Go are eagerly anticipating the chance to sink their teeth into some of the best chicken around. Whether you're a lifelong devotee or a newcomer to the restaurant's mouth-watering offerings, there's no doubt that the arrival of this new location is cause for celebration.
