Bathrobe Lady Abandoned Dog in Sherwood Estates

Sherwood Estates, Kansas City Northland, June 30, 2024 – A heart-wrenching incident unfolded this morning around 8:45 a.m. in Sherwood Estates. An eyewitness reported seeing a woman, dressed in a bathrobe with a towel in her hair, abandon a dog near Lakewood Parkway.

The dog, described as a mixed breed with spotty coloring and long legs, chased the woman's car as she drove away. The dog did not bark or show aggression, but its desperation was evident as it tried to follow the departing vehicle.

Residents of Sherwood Estates are encouraged to keep an eye out for the dog. Anyone who finds it and is willing to give it a loving home is urged to do so, as it will undoubtedly have a better life than being left alone at a park.

Local animal shelters, including Pet Project, are overwhelmed, receiving up to 60 animals a day, and are struggling with limited resources. This makes the prospect of finding immediate shelter for the abandoned dog unlikely
