Antioch Road, near Antioch Crossing, in early 2025.
With over 950 locations nationwide, Dutch Bros continues its quest to ensure no city block is left un-coffee-chained. Kansas Citians can now add Dutch Bros to the growing list of out-of-town coffee giants vying for dominance in our caffeine-craving hearts—right alongside Starbucks, Scooters, and whatever new conglomerate decides to pop up next week.
The new location promises to offer a variety of drinks, including smoothies, teas, freezes, and the intriguingly-named "Rebel energy drinks," because clearly what every morning commute needs is an extra jolt of rebellion. Dutch Bros insists this is not just another coffee stop; it’s a "community-focused company." Translation: their baristas might ask you how your day is going before handing you a sugary concoction topped with whipped cream.
Norhtland resident Jeff Smith had this to say "And in the same stripmall as Scooters, across the street from Starbucks, 2 blocks north of 7Brew and QT, and 3 blocks south of Dunkin. Can we just have a quaint little independent coffee shop in the neighborhood? "
But here’s a thought: if you’re tired of the corporate coffee monotony, maybe skip the Dutch invasion entirely and head over to Renegade Coffee on North Oak or The Friendly Bean on Barry Rd.. These local gems offer not only great coffee but also the satisfaction of supporting your neighbors rather than a faraway CEO with a yacht. Plus, they probably won't try to upsell you on an energy drink that sounds like it came straight out of a Fast & Furious movie.
