Car Hijacking at Target on Barry Road Prompts Lockdown at Barry Elementary YMCA Camp

No Injuries Reported In a situation that initially sparked fear and confusion, reports of an active shooter at the Target on Barry Road were quickly debunked. Local authorities have confirmed that the incident was, in fact, a carjacking earlier in the day, not a shooting. Today, unsettling reports emerged from the vicinity of Barry Road, stirring concern among residents and parents alike. Rumor of a possible armed individual at the local Target off of Barry Rd that sent shockwaves through the community, prompting Barry Elementary's YMCA camp to initiate a precautionary lockdown earlier today. The KCPD has not provided details however multiple residents attest that businesses in the area conducted lockdowns.
