More Creepers in Platte Ridge Neighborhood

 


As soon as local authorities put away one known sex offender in Platte Ridge Neighborhood, Another one has popped up to take his place.

Residents of the Platte Ridge neighborhood are on high alert following reports of the 2nd man in the last months man stalking women in the area behind the Thirsty Bull tavern off of NW Prairie View Rd early this morning, at approximately 4:12 a.m., Terri, a local resident, reported seeing a suspicious individual in her backyard driveway. The man appeared to be holding his phone as if he were taking pictures or video recordings. He then bent his head down, as if speaking quietly into the device.

"I might be wrong, but it looked like he was trying to record something," she said. Concerned for her safety, she promptly filed a police report.

Other residents have shared similar unsettling encounters. Bobbie., another resident of Platte Ridge, reported that the same individual was seen on her home camera. "He was bent down looking in my window," she shared, recounting the disturbing behavior. She added that the man appeared undeterred despite the lights from her porch, motion sensors, and security cameras shining directly on him. "I'm shocked he came back a second time with all the lights shining on him," Bobbie. said.

The stalking incident comes amid other suspicious activity in the area. Amanda, another neighbor, believes the man may be responsible for a theft that occurred last night. "He probably has my black wallet and all the change that was stolen from our van," she stated, expressing frustration and anger.

Community members are urging each other to stay vigilant. Conversations online have highlighted the growing concern, with many neighbors questioning the individual’s intentions. As of now, the KCPD  has yet to release an official statement on the situation, but they are investigating the reports made by residents.

While some remain hopeful for a swift resolution, others are finding solace in the solidarity of their community, with neighbors offering words of support and caution. However, the recurring presence of the man has left many uneasy. Local law enforcement encourages anyone with further information or security footage to come forward as the investigation continues.

Last month the KCPD arrested the first  sex offender in Platte Ridge, who has been  identified as Onchi Eliou according to sources. He had been reportedly targeting women, attempting to gain access to homes and apartments in the neighborhood.  The Creeper faces serious charges including burglary (2nd offense), stalking, and property damage, with additional charges pending.
