Break-in at Clay Terrace Apartments

Gladstone, MO
— Residents of Clay Terrace apartments on NE 79th St just north of Gladstone are on edge following a disturbing incident on Tuesday night, January 14th. R.B., a resident who prefers to remain anonymous, reported hearing a loud slamming noise around 11 pm. Investigation revealed that the sliding glass door to their bedroom had been tampered with, but fortunately, their security measures prevented any entry.

"I suspect it was two males," R.B. stated. "There were two sets of footprints in the snow right off my porch. They must have known someone was home, as all my lights were on, which is quite concerning."

During the recent snowstorm, R.B. encountered two young men claiming to be from a neighboring complex. Their behavior raised suspicions. "They were asking specific questions about neighbors, particularly if they were male or female," R.B. recounted. "The man with them was said to be deaf, yet I observed they weren't using sign language, despite covering their mouths while communicating."

Describing the individuals as either Asian or Latino in their 20s with dark hair and varying skin tones, R.B. noted their selective approach. "They only approached ground-level apartments," they remarked, emphasizing the suspicious nature of their actions.

Despite alerting the apartment management, R.B. expressed disappointment in their response. "I wanted them to warn tenants, but they suggested I call the police instead," R.B. explained. "Given the storm's impact, I didn't feel an immediate threat then."

In response to these events, R.B. intends to enhance personal security measures and urges fellow residents to remain vigilant. "I've informed the management, but I want everyone to be aware," they concluded.

Local authorities encourage residents to report any suspicious activity immediately to ensure community safety.
